Airalo is the world’s first and largest travel eSIM provider, making global connectivity easier, more affordable, and borderless. Its platform allows users to instantly download digital SIMs and connect to local networks in over 200 destinations—at a fraction of roaming costs.
The company has raised $220 million in a funding round led by CVC, with participation from Peak XV and Antler Elevate, pushing its valuation above $1 billion and officially making it the first unicorn in the eSIM category. With this funding, the company will launch unlimited data plans, expand its enterprise platform, and roll out a new app experience across web, iOS, and Android. It will also offer dedicated data, voice, and text packages, and scale its B2B tools—including white-label stores and API integrations.
Airalo, headquartered in Delaware, United States, was founded in 2019 by Ahmet Bahadir Ozdemir and Abraham Burak. “This funding is a major milestone, not just for Airalo, but for the future of global connectivity,” said Ahmet Bahadir Ozdemir, CEO and co-founder of Airalo. “This raise allows us to drive innovation across every part of the user journey by delivering more flexible plans and a faster, more seamless experience. We’re not just enabling better eSIM solutions for travel - we’re building the infrastructure for the next generation of international mobile connectivity.”
