Zama Raises $57 Million and Hits Unicorn Status at Over $1 Billion Valuation

Zama is a cryptography company focused on building open-source solutions using fully homomorphic encryption (FHE). Its technology allows data to be processed while remaining encrypted, enabling a new class of privacy-preserving applications. The company’s flagship product, the Zama Protocol, brings confidentiality to any Layer 1 or Layer 2 blockchain. This unlocks secure use cases across payments, tokenization, decentralized finance, and on-chain governance.

Zama has raised $57 million in a Series B funding round, pushing its valuation above $1 billion and achieving unicorn status. The latest funding, co-led by Pantera Capital and Blockchange Ventures, brings Zama's total funding to over $150 million.

Zama, headquartered in Zug, Switzerland, was founded in 2020 by Pascal Paillier and Rand Hindi. With its cutting-edge encryption technology and open-source approach, Zama is paving the way for a more private, secure, and scalable future for decentralized applications.
